In the final part of the game, players get to travel to a strange and mythical subterranean land called Avernum.
The land is full of all sorts of monsters, dragons, elaborate mazes, labyrinths, dungeons and warfare. In the game, you are to help the people of your village escape the terrors that have begun to befall them. Your land is now under considerable danger, war is breaking out everywhere and soon your village will also be a war zone. Plus, you also have to do something about the famine that is also about to hit your village.
Your people look up to you for guidance and safety and it is your job to provide them one before everything is doomed. The most interesting thing about the game is that you get to roam the enormous land of Avernum which seems never-ending, encountering different people, and mythical beings. Plus, your journey will be riddled with different puzzles, quests, dungeons and fortresses that you will have to fight your way out of.
