The first instalment of EAs WWII-themed shooter series that was made for the PC, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, is one of the best games created in this genre. The game provides players with plenty of action and expertly orchestrated chaos to keep them entertained and coming back for more.
While this title may be one of the best, do not expect the realistic setting to equate to a serious combat simulation like Operation Flashpoint or Ghost Recon. If you are expecting this, you might be disappointed. Medal of Honor is more of an awesome run-and-gun shooter game than it is anything else. The game boast plenty of great scripting and action to keep the game intense, something tactical shooters seem to be lacking.
Medal of Honor is a relatively short game and can be completed in a little over 10 hours on the normal difficulty setting. In those 10 hours however, the developers have packed a large amount of content. What the game lacks in story, it makes up for with over six missions that are spread across 30 different levels. If you want to see what a well-designed run-and-gun game looks like, or if you want to play an exciting game, get a copy of Medal of Honor: Allied Assault.
Medal of Honor is the representation of a solid event-driven shooter.
