Grand Theft Auto Drift City is another addition to the ever popular GTA franchise. It involves driving around Mittron Island completing missions while you chat to other online players (they can be pretty useful at providing tips when missions get to difficult). The controls aren’t difficult – you only need to use 6 keys. The first few missions of the game are really just to teach you the basics while starting off the storyline. You earn experience points when completing missions; these get you to new levels which can unlock new aspects of gameplay.
When you level-up high enough, you can enter the Drift City Battle Zone – where you can race against other online players from around the world, you are more likely to win if you visit the Driver Dome, where you can buy a new car or improve the one you have, with the money that you earn when completing missions. If you don’t want to spend all your time completing missions, you can take a break and explore the city, meet new people and just have a fun drive (or liven things up a bit by making your car fly cross the road or perform amazing jumps – just watch out for the cops!).
The graphics are cell-shaded but realistic, with easily recognizable car makes and models, the whole city is also incredibly detailed. So while the game takes a long time to set up (first you need to register, then download the client, an extra installer and all the necessary updates) it is worth it for the challenging missions and amazing scenery.
