NBA 2K14 is a fantastic game that improves on an already impressive series. Two new features and the fixing of a few bugs help to make this the best edition yet. Harking back to the Michael Jordan edition, players can now enjoy the LeBron James career mode. At the start of this game mode, players can choose whether LeBron stays in Miami or goes to a different team, though that team is chosen at random. That mode starts with him in Miami, so you do miss the early part of his career. European teams are also included for the first time. It is now possible to play exhibition games against the likes of Barcelona and Panathinaikos, though only quick games can be played with those teams.
Gameplay has also gone through some improvements. The AI has made it tougher for players to break down defenses, so you will need a better understanding of the game, including positioning and the timing of passes, to be successful. Fortunately, you can get tactical help at the touch of a button. Blocks and rebounds have often been improved, as the ball no longer passes through players’ arms. You can now also do a lot more while in possession of the ball, including some new trick moves. The game is currently available on PS4 and Xbox One.
